IT as a Service Model Future Proofs Arc Productions’ Network

Arc Productions, a Toronto-based media and entertainment company with more than 250 artists and technical directors, needed to expand its core network after running out of room for growth. To avoid a costly full infrastructure replacement, Arc Productions worked with Scalar Decisions to explore an IT as a Service approach for increasing network capacity without major capital expense.

Scalar Decisions implemented a solution built around two Brocade 48-port switches connected and trunked to the legacy core switch, with storage and infrastructure servers moved onto the Brocade fabric. The deployment was completed without disrupting workflow, and Arc Productions gained a more scalable network that can be expanded or reduced as demand changes, allowing the team to think in 60-day capacity windows instead of a six-year hardware cycle.
