How Scalac helped Bexio expand its software app for small businesses by developing and integrating a powerful set of payroll tools

bexio is a Swiss fintech software company that provides an SaaS platform for small businesses. Faced with rapid growth and the acquisition of a Scala-based payroll application, bexio lacked the in-house expertise to develop and integrate these new tools into their existing platform, which also had opportunities for modernization.

Scalac established a dedicated team of fifteen senior engineers to take over development. They updated the tech stack, optimized pipelines, and migrated to the Google cloud, implementing new payroll features. As a result, Scalac improved the system's maintainability, flexibility, and resource efficiency, and ultimately assumed full responsibility for the payroll solution's ongoing development and maintenance.
