A Scala Case Study
Cumbria Constabulary needed a faster, more reliable way to brief officers across nine largely rural police stations in West Cumbria with real-time information on wanted persons, criminal alerts, and other critical updates. Working with Scala through reseller Managed Information Technologies Ltd. (MIT), the force deployed a Scala InfoChannel® 3 digital network known as the “Telebriefing” system to replace slower, less accessible briefing methods.
Scala’s solution used InfoChannel Designer and Network Manager to create, manage, and distribute daily briefing content from the Force Intelligence Center to all nine stations, while Textfile EX let senior officers post urgent updates directly. The result was timely, consistent information delivered to officers before deployment, helping improve operational awareness and supporting safer communities across Cumbria.
