A Scala Case Study
The University of Toronto’s Recreational and Wellness Center at the Mississauga campus needed a better way to communicate with visitors, staff, and program participants across a busy new facility. Its existing tools were ineffective for sharing announcements, schedules, and updates, so the university turned to Scala for a more flexible digital signage solution.
Scala, working through partner MyMedia, implemented Scala 5 with a content manager server, template-based content, and integrations with existing systems, including satellite TV and scheduling software. The result was two independent content channels, real-time updates, and an electronic seven-day schedule that replaced daily printed postings, saving significant time, money, and resources while improving communication across the center.
