A Scala Case Study
Yodobashi Camera, Tokyo’s largest retail consumer electronics store, wanted to improve the customer experience across its high-traffic locations while keeping pace with fast-changing promotions. Working with Scala partner Vanten, the company planned YodobiTV, a digital in-store information network designed to support point-of-sale advertising, timely promotions, and high-definition content that matched its premium brand image.
Scala, through Vanten’s EngageMedia digital signage solution based on Scala InfoChannel, delivered a network of 46-inch portrait LCD screens in key store areas and synchronized it with Yodobashi’s outdoor Yodobashi-vision LED display. The result was real-time promotional updates, consistent messaging across channels, weather-based ad variations, and no extra overhead for database-driven content; the Akihabara pilot was a success and expansion to Umeda was already planned.
