Tesco’s Digital Signage Network In Poland Proves Its Worth And Looks To The Future

Tesco Poland faced the challenge of proving that a new in-store digital signage network could engage shoppers and generate measurable advertising revenue across its largest stores. Working with Scala and its partner DDS Poland, Tesco aimed to validate screen placement, content strategy, and audience reach for a Tesco-branded network in 52 superstores, with the pilot focused on understanding shopper behavior and advertiser value.

Scala provided the content creation and management software for the pilot and rollout, enabling centralized control of two content channels, flexible scheduling, and tailored messaging across store zones. The proof-of-concept helped define an optimal setup of about 30 screens per store, a 275-second content loop, and short 15-second content items; research also found shoppers responded positively, with improved awareness and recall, supporting Tesco Poland’s planned expansion of the network.
