TENQ - Customer Case Study

TENQ, a Netherlands-based school water cooler and media initiative, wanted a web-based digital signage platform that could scale as the network expanded and deliver content tailored to each school. The challenge was to combine fresh drinking water with interactive screens and an online community for students, while keeping the system flexible and easy to manage. TENQ chose Scala software for the network, with Scala Certified Partner Hulskamp helping implement it.

Using Scala, TENQ built a network where school administrators can log in through a web portal to update screen content, control audio, and turn displays on or off. The solution enabled school-specific messaging and supported growth to nearly 400 coolers, reaching more than 250,000 students. Scala also helped TENQ expand the concept further, including the TENQY version for younger children, with pilot testing showing most students drank more water.
