Shell Oil Expanding Successful Signage Installationto 600 Stores Throughout Brazil

Shell Oil Company in Brazil, operating as Raízen Combustíveis SA, needed a more engaging way to reach convenience-store customers quickly at the point of purchase. To stand out from growing competition, Shell worked with Scala and its partner Ya Mogu to replace static menu boards with digital signage that could show both centrally controlled brand content and store-specific promotions.

Using Scala Enterprise Designer and Scala Enterprise Content Manager, the solution was rolled out with three screens per store, letting Shell manage national advertising while local managers updated relevant prices and menu items. The results included increased sales, especially of sandwiches featured on the displays, and the deployment expanded from 250 stores toward a planned 600 stores in Brazil, totaling 1,800 screens.
