Odeon Leicester Square, one of London’s most iconic film destinations, needed to replace its traditional poster boards with a more dynamic, modern way to promote movies and host premiere content in Leicester Square. Scala helped power the new display system, which also needed to handle live event footage and changing content quickly for the busy public square.

Scala’s software was used to drive a 107-square-metre LED display, along with two additional 18-square-metre screens, enabling ODEON Leicester Square to update content instantly, reduce the need for cherry-picker lift changes, and operate in a more environmentally friendly way. The solution also allowed multiple screens to show different content at once, and the landmark installation was launched at the world premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, reinforcing the venue’s status as a major entertainment destination.
