Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. Communicates with Employees Using a Digital Sign Network

Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. needed a better way to communicate with employees across its East Hanover, NJ campus. Its internal communications team was relying on foam core posters, but updating them was costly, slow, and increasingly ineffective as employees began to ignore the messages. Novartis worked with Scala and partner Advanced AV to replace the old approach with a digital sign network, using Scala’s InfoChannel® software suite.

Scala implemented an 18-screen digital signage network across lobbies, cafeterias, and break rooms, running over Novartis’s local IP infrastructure. The system improved real-time employee communication and reduced the cost of designing and printing signs by 90%, while also eliminating poster distribution and disposal costs. Employees and management responded positively, and Novartis planned to expand the network further across its campus and into another facility.
