Norsk Rikstoto, the foundation that administers racetrack betting in Norway, needed a more efficient and cost-effective way to deliver timely betting information across the country. Its printed racing form created high printing and distribution costs, and manual updates at outlets made it difficult to ensure customers everywhere received the same correct information on time. Scala helped address this with a digital betting solution.
Scala, working with partners, implemented a Digital Marketplace Channel of 1,300 kiosks across Norway to deliver real-time race information, promotions, and interactive betting content. After a successful 13-agent pilot, the rollout was completed in March 2008. The new system reduced printing and distribution expenses, enabled centrally managed live information, created a modern customer experience, and added a new revenue stream from advertising.
