A Scala Case Study
NorgesGruppen, Norway’s largest grocery retailer and wholesaler, needed a way to modernize the Shell FRESH gas station concept and replace traditional printed signage with dynamic in-store messaging. Working with Scala, it introduced a digital menu board system for the 166 Shell FRESH locations to better communicate promotions, daypart offers, and local content while improving the customer experience.
Scala implemented a four-screen digital menu board setup in each store, powered by Scala InfoChannel software and 400 players across the network. The solution enabled centrally managed content updates and targeted promotions by time of day and location, helping NorgesGruppen deliver fresher, more engaging messaging throughout the network and fully roll out the concept across all Shell FRESH sites.
