Nordisk Film Biografer Uses Digital Signage to Entertain Patrons Waiting to Buy Movie Tickets

Nordisk Film Biografer, Denmark’s largest cinema chain, needed a more reliable and flexible way to manage digital signage in its lobbies, waiting areas, kiosks, and movie poster displays. Its existing software had limited functionality, so the company turned to Scala to improve content management and expand the use of its screens for trailers, offers, and information.

Scala, implemented by certified partner IT Gruppen, provided a central server-based digital signage solution with 36 players and 115 Sony LCD screens. The result was faster content updates, smoother trailer transitions, better image quality, and a more professional in-theater experience. Nordisk Film Biografer also saw greater kiosk sales and saved time and money by eliminating much of the work tied to printing and replacing traditional movie posters.
