New NPR Headquarters Leverages Scala Software to Inform and Engage Visitors

NPR moved into its new Washington, D.C. headquarters in 2013 with a challenge to create a visually engaging visitor experience across a large lobby videowall, elevator lobby screens, and exterior digital displays. Using Scala software, NPR needed a flexible way to manage and schedule dynamic news, arts, and music content while staying true to its design standards and brand.

Scala, implemented by certified partner Imperatives, Inc., delivered a digital signage system that mapped content across the Mosaic Media Wall, synchronized ticker feeds and the Icon Tower, and enabled time-based scheduling and easy content updates. The solution helped NPR become self-sufficient in managing its signage and created a more captivating, coordinated experience for visitors, staff, and passersby.
