Nedbank, one of South Africa’s top banking groups, needed a reliable and cost-effective datacasting platform to communicate with employees across branches nationwide and to measure the impact of its messaging efforts. After years of struggling with an inefficient, expensive hybrid system, Nedbank turned to Scala and its InfoChannel 3 (IC3) platform for a more scalable solution.

Scala implemented a network that improved content creation, scheduling, and monitoring, while reducing bandwidth usage and production costs. With Scala, Nedbank cut a 36-page multimedia presentation from over 22 hours of transmission time and 1.44MB on CD, and gained confirmed broadcasting and health monitoring even over difficult local telecom conditions, helping the bank expand use of the network for both employee and customer communications with better ROI.
