Los Angeles Entertainment Complex Kicks Women’s World Cup Excitement into High Gear

AEG Multimedia, which manages the screen network at L.A. LIVE, needed a creative way to help Fox Sports Marketing Group build excitement for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup and reach millions of visitors in downtown Los Angeles. Using Scala and Scala Services, they set out to deliver a dynamic promotional campaign that could adapt to live weather conditions and keep attention on the U.S. Women’s National Team.

Scala implemented a custom script that checked Weather Underground data and automatically cued the right HD video for the current conditions, while also repurposing a countdown clock and using Scala Designer to fit content across the venue’s varied screens. The result was a seamless, 24/7 campaign that showed weather-specific practice footage, current weather and temperature, and a countdown to the team’s first game, helping grab the attention of millions and making updates faster and easier for AEG Multimedia.
