Indianapolis Museum of Art and Scala InfoChannel Guide the Way to Inform Museum Visitors

The Indianapolis Museum of Art faced a visitor-navigation challenge in its new Glass Rotunda entrance as part of a $220 million expansion, needing a clear way to direct large crowds and share key information in an open, light-filled space. To solve this, it worked with Scala and Digital AV using Scala InfoChannel software to create a digital signage system with three large displays for museum updates, ticketing, events, and exhibit information.

Scala implemented a centrally managed, remotely updateable signage network that could run 24/7 and schedule content as needed across the museum. The project was completed in 90 days, reduced reliance on printed materials, and improved speed to destination for visitors; the museum reported high satisfaction, and the system was described as having already paid for itself through efficiency gains.
