Indiana University Deploys Digital Signage System

Indiana University needed a greener, more efficient way to share campus communications such as security alerts, wayfinding, news, weather, and events. Its Auxiliary IT Services team, led by Aaron Sudduth, chose Scala digital signage software after a competitive RFP process to replace slower, more costly printed materials and improve how information reached students and staff.

Scala, implemented through Digital AV, helped Indiana University deploy 30 LCD monitors and computers across campus and centrally manage more than 30 channels of content. The system was fully operational in spring 2009, reduced printing costs, and sped up content distribution by letting departments create, approve, and publish updates remotely through Scala Content Manager.
