IKEA Switzerland Deploys Scala Software To Enhance Customer Experience

IKEA Switzerland wanted to enhance the shopping experience in its nine stores and improve internal communications, but relied on costly, slow-to-update printed posters. To solve this, IKEA chose Scala digital signage, working with Scala partner Kilchenmann, to create a more flexible system that could support both central control and local adaptation across Switzerland’s multiple languages and regional needs.

Scala implemented 128 Smart Signage screens powered by the Scala Smart Signage Platform, Scala Content Manager, and HTML Players, integrated with Samsung hardware. The rollout replaced print, saved staff time and costs, improved information flow, and positively influenced customer purchasing behavior. IKEA Switzerland also reported strong employee communication benefits and said the installation was quick and straightforward, with all screens live in just two weeks.
