Duke Energy Center Welcomes Meeting Delegates and Visitors to Cincinnati

Duke Energy Center, owned by the City of Cincinnati, needed a flexible digital signage system to improve communication with meeting delegates and visitors, support event advertising, and help the venue stand out from other convention centers. Working with Scala and its InfoChannel digital signage platform, the center set out to replace static information with dynamic displays that could show schedules, news, weather, and visitor messages.

Scala implemented a network of 16 high-definition plasma displays, using InfoChannel Network Manager, InfoChannel Designer, and InfoChannel Players with custom ScalaScript and VBScript integrations. The solution enabled real-time room scheduling, targeted zone-based content, emergency alerts, live TV/video feeds, and logged advertising playback for billing and verification. The result was a highly flexible communications system that improved visitor information delivery, created a competitive advantage, and generated a modest revenue stream from event-based advertising.
