BAE Integrates Scala InfoChannel for OEM Digital Signage on the Plant Floor

BAE Systems, a major producer of aircraft engine controls and avionics equipment in Fort Wayne, Indiana, needed a better way to share real-time manufacturing and quality data with plant-floor employees while also delivering corporate communications. The company turned to Scala and its InfoChannel digital signage platform, with support from Digital AV, to address both needs through a single solution.

Scala implemented a plant-wide digital signage network with 14 large LCD displays across key departments and high-traffic areas, using InfoChannel Designer, Net Manager, and Player software to distribute content over the internal network. The system became a model for other BAE Systems sites, supporting training, scorecards, ANDON signals, weather updates, and virtual design reviews, and helped BAE improve internal communication and floor-level efficiency across its operations.
