AVI Systems was selected to deliver the AV solution for GE MRI “Patient Experience” rooms for PDC Facilities, Inc., using Scala and related digital media tools. The challenge was to create a soothing, touch-enabled visual experience for MRI patients while meeting strict technical constraints, including HD image quality through glass and RFI filters, no electronics in the MRI room, and centralized control from the control room.

Using Scala, AVI Systems designed and integrated the content, programming, projection, and control system to power adult and child-themed experiences on a 3' x 8' display with touch foil, HD projection, and Crestron control. The result was a professionally installed patient experience ready for GE Medical Systems demonstrations, with the concept positioned as a new MRI facility option and a potential retrofit program for existing sites.
