Akademibokhandeln Leads the Swedich Bookstore Industry with Scala Digital Signage

Akademibokhandeln, Sweden’s largest bookstore chain, wanted to stay ahead in its market by becoming the first bookstore company in Sweden to adopt digital signage. With 62 stores and a broad mix of local and national content needs, the retailer needed a more flexible way to promote products, share information, and respond quickly to customer demand. Scala was part of the digital signage initiative, working through a Scala Certified Partner.

Scala helped Akademibokhandeln roll out a dynamic in-store signage network, first tested in the Skrapan location with large and small screens plus mobile display units for promotions. The solution improved message flexibility, helped the chain rapidly update campaigns across stores, and extended coverage of author events and internal communications. Early results were positive, with the project described as smooth and already a success as Akademibokhandeln prepared to equip all 62 stores.
