Airport Updates Flight Times From Another City
Olaya Herrera Airport in Medellín, Colombia wanted to move beyond basic flight boards and offer travelers useful flight information plus engaging entertainment. To do this, the airport selected Scala’s InfoChannel digital signage software suite, alongside a multi-screen display network, to create a modern infotainment experience that could show arrivals and departures, weather, news, and other topical content.
Scala implemented a networked solution using InfoChannel Player, Network Manager, and Designer to coordinate content across a nine-screen Super Video Wall and additional displays, with scheduling managed remotely from Bogotá for easier administration and better security. The result was a flexible, high-impact system with smooth graphics, animations, sound, and real-time flight updates every 40 seconds, delivering a stronger passenger experience and centralized control of content from multiple sources.
