The Zephir Project, an initiative aimed at breaking the world speed record on water with a sustainable sail craft, faced the challenge of capturing ultra-precise motion data under extreme and constantly changing conditions. To achieve real-time performance monitoring and optimization, they required a high-precision, robust, and compact inertial navigation system, leading them to partner with vendor SBG Systems and its Ellipse-D INS product.

SBG Systems implemented its compact and robust Ellipse-D inertial sensor, which delivered reliable and accurate high-frequency motion data even under harsh dynamic conditions. This solution enabled the Zephir team to analyze movements in detail, optimize performance through AI algorithms, and ultimately supported windsurfer Antoine Albeau in setting a new world speed record.
