TUfast Team achieves 1st place at autocross in 3 countries with SBG Systems

The TUfast Team, a student group competing in the Formula Student Electric racing series, needed a high-performance navigation system to provide critical dynamics analysis for their electric racing car, the eb018. They selected the Ellipse2-N miniature INS/GNSS from vendor SBG Systems to accurately estimate the vehicle's state, including speed, slip angle, and yaw rate.

The solution implemented by SBG Systems provided the team with highly accurate data, showing less than 10cm of error on long trips. This was a decisive factor in the team's success, contributing to multiple first-place finishes in international competitions. The vendor's product became the most important sensor for the car's state estimation and was integral to improving their vehicle dynamics model and tire analysis.
