Jan De Nul extends survey operations in sea state 3 with SBG Systems

Jan De Nul Group, a renowned international maritime operations company, sought to minimize the environmental footprint and ensure the reliability of its survey operations for its Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV). The challenge was to find a compact and user-friendly Inertial Navigation System (INS) that could deliver accurate data in harsh offshore conditions. To meet these objectives, they engaged with vendor SBG Systems and selected their Navsight-Apogee Motion Reference Unit (MRU).

SBG Systems integrated its Navsight-Apogee MRU into Jan De Nul's USV, providing reliable pitch, roll, and heave measurements. The solution delivered accurate survey data in sea state three conditions, maximizing the vessel's operational window and providing precise positioning even in GNSS-denied environments like wind farms.
