ArcLight builds a 290-MW power station with S&B

ArcLight, through its investment ArcLight Capital, faced the challenge of repowering a retired power generation unit in Victoria, Texas, to create a new 290-MW station. They engaged vendor S&B and its subsidiary Bibb to perform the detailed engineering and design required for this complex project.

S&B's solution involved engineering the integration of a historic steam turbine with new equipment, including a gas turbine and a repurposed heat recovery boiler. Their team designed all necessary foundations, interconnections, and a modern distributed control system (DCS). As a result, S&B successfully delivered the engineering to bring the efficient combined cycle power station online.
