Preferred Credit Union, a community-based credit union in Michigan, faced the common challenge of debit cards that were rarely used as members carried many competing cards. PCU needed a way to identify underutilized cardholders and offer the right incentive to boost point-of-sale usage, interchange income, and member engagement.
PCU deployed CO-OP Revelation powered by Saylent with CO-OP Preferred marketing to run the “Drive On” gas-card campaign; Saylent handled segmentation, creative, mailing and reward fulfillment. The campaign delivered strong results: more than 11% of targeted members qualified, average purchase transactions per qualified card rose 247% and average spend per card increased 465%, the campaign broke even in three months, interchange revenue grew 74% over three months, and a 266% ROI is projected at 12 months.
