Large Health System Achieves Seamless Integration with EPIC in the Cloud

Major Integrated American Health System, a large U.S. health system serving over one million patients, needed to modernize its Identity and Access Management to meet strict HIPAA requirements and improve analytics and automated reporting. Their existing identity solution couldn’t fetch all EPIC accounts and entitlements, forcing daily manual EPIC extracts that consumed 2–3 hours per day; they engaged Saviynt and its Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) cloud platform to address these gaps.

Saviynt implemented its cloud IGA to integrate HR data from three systems, consolidate more than 16,000 roles, enable automated joiner/mover/leaver (JML) processes, and deliver a fully provisioned EPIC database connector with hourly provisioning for key systems. The deployment let the Major Integrated American Health System decommission its former identity system without downtime, secure 100k users and 261k entitlements, converge three systems and 12 apps, eliminate thousands of manual tasks, and accelerate onboarding and provisioning (hourly vs. daily), moving the organization closer to Zero Trust.
