Siemens - Customer Case Study

Siemens AG, a global technology leader in the Process Industries and Drives division, faced growing inefficiencies from relying on MS Project and a self-made Excel tool to track utilization, forecast resource needs, and manage bookings. To replace the “spreadsheet nightmare,” they adopted Saviom Software’s Resource Management system (SAVIOM) at the end of 2012 to provide a more robust, easy-to-use planning and forecasting solution.

Saviom Software implemented SAVIOM to centralize scheduling and forecasting, enabling Siemens to schedule 300 resources across four countries, gain a short- to mid-term (around six months) outlook, and perform booked-vs-actual analysis via timesheets. The deployment improved line managers’ decision-making, increased visibility into utilization, and offered flexible resource definitions (even for non-person assets), delivering measurable multi-country scheduling and clearer capacity planning while being inexpensive and easy to handle.
