Office for Nuclear Regulation improves stakeholder insight with Savanta’s 16 interviews and annual surveys

The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) commissioned the research consultancy Savanta to conduct an annual stakeholder survey. The challenge was to track stakeholder experiences, attitudes, and perceptions to measure ONR's regulatory performance, identify key strengths and risks, and find areas for operational improvement and strategic engagement.

Savanta implemented a mixed-method approach, beginning with a quantitative survey that achieved a record number of responses. They followed this with in-depth qualitative interviews and provided benchmarking against other public sector organizations. The outcome was a series of published reports offering ONR, the nuclear sector, and the public valuable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement against its strategic objectives.
