Case Study: SESCAM achieves better population-based clinical research and patient care with Savana

A Savana Case Study

Preview of the Sescam Case Study

Enabling clinicians to conduct population-based clinical studies from primary and secondary care

Sescam, the Health Service of Castilla-La Mancha, needed a better way for clinicians to access and analyze real-world patient data across primary and secondary care. Using Savana’s clinical user interface, Dr. Raul Piedra and his team were able to explore aggregated, anonymized EHR data from more than 2 million covered citizens, turning everyday clinical questions into research ideas.

Savana enabled the team to conduct large population-based studies in real time, including analyses of 105,000 diabetic patients, and to present award-winning research on diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and COPD. The platform helped replicate evidence from clinical trials using routine data, improve resource planning, and support evidence-based care; the result was faster research, broader clinical insight, and stronger impact on daily practice.
