N26 Cuts Manual Testing Time and Boosts Confidence in Mobile Apps with Sauce Labs

N26 is a Berlin-based, smartphone-first bank serving customers across the Eurozone. As its iOS and Android codebases and feature set grew, a small QA team found manual testing on multiple phone models and OS versions increasingly time-consuming and risky for release velocity, especially with parts of the app written in different languages.

N26 adopted Appium for cross-platform automation and ran tests on Sauce Labs’ cloud-based virtual devices rather than building an in-house device farm, integrating automated tests into its CI pipeline. The team now runs daily Android regressions, is expanding iOS coverage, tests on up to 30 devices, catches more bugs before release, speeds up continuous delivery, and saves time and money—letting QA focus on exploratory work and improving the customer experience.
