A Sauce Labs Case Study
Code.org is a nonprofit that provides open-source online computer science curriculum used by millions (about 8 million students trained and the Hour of Code reaching roughly 100 million). Because school computer labs vary widely in browsers and platforms, cross-browser testing is essential, but their previous setup ran only a few parallel tests, was unreliable, required manual reruns, and created long test cycles that slowed development.
Code.org adopted Sauce Labs’ cloud-based testing to run hundreds of parallel end-to-end tests across multiple browsers and integrate into continuous integration; about 10 engineers run daily tests covering dozens of features. The result: test time dropped 78% (from ~90 minutes to ~20), enabling faster feature delivery, higher code quality, easier open-source contributions, and more reliable experiences for millions of students and teachers.
