A Sauce Labs Case Study
Code.org is a nonprofit that expands access to computer science worldwide—its curriculum is available in 63 languages and the annual Hour of Code reaches millions (about 15% of students globally). As the organization scaled, testing across the wide variety of classroom devices became a bottleneck: with a 20-person development team and no full-time QA, manual testing and flaky cross‑browser failures slowed releases and made daily shipping difficult.
By adopting the Sauce Labs continuous testing cloud, Code.org modernized its test strategy and fully automated its pipeline. The team now runs 100% of tests (often up to 200 in parallel), cuts suite times from ~90 minutes to under 20, executes tens of thousands of tests daily with a 98% pass rate, and ships features—like the “AI for Oceans” Hour of Code tutorial—confidently and frequently, all while supporting millions of learners with minimal QA headcount.
