The Town of Hempstead, one of the largest municipalities in New York, was struggling with aging IT infrastructure that could no longer keep up with growing storage, compute, and disaster recovery demands. Saturn Business Systems helped the town address these challenges with IBM technology, including IBM Storwize v7000, IBM BladeCenter, and IBM Enhanced Remote Mirroring.

Saturn Business Systems implemented a modernized storage, server, and DR environment by virtualizing the legacy IBM DS4000 behind the Storwize v7000, upgrading to blade servers with VMware virtualization, and automating replication and failover with VMware Site Recovery Manager and IBM Enhanced Remote Mirroring. The result was improved scalability, availability, and efficiency, while extending the life of the town’s legacy storage infrastructure by almost 3 years and enabling more reliable, automatic disaster recovery with no data loss.
