CipherHealth Bucking the cloud trend to improve performance and reduce costs

CipherHealth, a healthcare technology company, needed to scale its infrastructure to support a growing customer base and expanding product mix without driving up costs. To address this, the company worked with vendor Saturn Business Systems and evaluated IBM Power Systems as an alternative to its cloud-based environment.

Saturn Business Systems helped CipherHealth implement its new architecture on IBM Power System S824L servers, with IBM Systems Lab Services assisting on Linux-based open-source workloads such as MongoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL, and NGINX. The results were significant: monthly infrastructure costs fell by 50%+, ETL processing time dropped 88% from six hours to 45 minutes, performance variability was eliminated, and CipherHealth reported up to five times the performance and scale of its previous cloud-hosted infrastructure.
