The German brewery Bitburger Brauerei faced challenges with its old labeling system, which was slow, not versatile, and prone to causing operational downtime when a printer failed. Their IT team sought a new solution that was versatile, fast, and reliable. They partnered with vendor SATO to implement the CL408e industrial barcode label printer.

SATO implemented a network of 17 CL408e printers, which integrated directly into the brewery's existing network. This allowed staff to print labels from any workstation to any available printer, virtually eliminating downtime. The solution provided by SATO resulted in faster, more flexible operations, with the system reliably handling a daily print volume of 3,400 to 6,800 labels for quality control and production.
