A SAS Case Study
UNIQA, a European insurance group operating across four companies and multiple life and non-life lines, faced the twin challenge of meeting Solvency II requirements and industrializing data governance to support strategic decision-making. The insurer needed to integrate heterogeneous data sources, build traceability and a shared data dictionary, and eliminate time-consuming, error-prone manual processes and legacy-system gaps.
By deploying SAS Data Management on top of an existing data warehouse, UNIQA automated and standardized data integration, certification, reconciliation and reporting. The initiative achieved Solvency II compliance, improved data quality and timeliness, enabled executive dashboards and KPIs for management, and sharpened the company’s ability to monitor emerging risks and make informed strategic decisions.
