A SAS Case Study
Telia Denmark, part of the Telia Company group, needed to meet EU GDPR requirements by locating and documenting personal data scattered across numerous legacy systems and unconventional identifiers (phone numbers, SIM/IMEI/IMSI, etc.). The challenge was to create a reliable, auditable process to identify, extract or delete any personal data related to an individual on demand.
Telia worked with SAS consultants and deployed SAS for Personal Data Protection on SAS Federation Server, developing rule files and a data-discovery process that identifies about 20 categories of personal data and produces standardized reports. The solution — paired with a SAS Visual Analytics dashboard for management oversight — enabled on-demand identification and deletion of records, improved data quality, and delivered measurable cost savings and clearer GDPR readiness.
