Case Study: Statistics Estonia achieves 50% faster information delivery and more than €1 million in savings with SAS

A SAS Case Study

Preview of the Statistics Estonia Case Study

Statistics Estonia accelerated information delivery by 50%, saved more than 1 million euros

Statistics Estonia, the country’s national statistical agency of about 400 professionals, needed to build a complete demographic and economic picture after independence and to prepare for a decennial census. The agency faced large, fragmented data flows (Population Registry, Tax Registry, Education Registry, etc.) totaling tens of gigabytes and hundreds of thousands of records, and needed a broad, open and highly usable platform to standardize, synchronize and speed up analysis.

By deploying SAS Enterprise BI Server, SAS Visual Data Discovery and SAS Enterprise Guide to integrate, quality-check and analyze data, Statistics Estonia cut manual work by as much as 70% in some areas, halved task completion times, and accelerated information delivery by up to 50%. The modernization also enabled deeper, more reliable analysis and delivered conservative cost savings of more than €1 million.
