Bell, a leading Canadian communications provider, needed a unified, accurate view of customer addresses to determine which services were active at each dwelling and to ensure each address was unique. A third‑party consolidation of more than 24 million records produced errors, duplications and variations that hindered marketing and service expansion.
Working with Modern Analytics, Bell implemented SAS Data Management to reconcile, cleanse and enrich address data using advanced fuzzy‑matching and localization. The solution produced a reliable master list for marketing, eliminated more than 5 million duplicate records, and established nightly reconciliation and ongoing de‑duplication rules to maintain high data quality at lower cost than outsourcing.
