Memphis City Schools improves instruction and student achievement with SAS® EVAAS® for K-12

Memphis City Schools, one of the nation’s largest districts with some 105,000 K–12 students, needed a reliable way to track student progress, produce achievement projections, and guide instructional changes across 78 schools. The district required a system that could deliver clear, actionable data to inform interventions, share best practices, and support honest evaluation of classroom and school performance.

They implemented SAS EVAAS for K–12 (locally TVAAS), a centralized web-based platform that aggregates student, teacher, and school data and allows drill-down to individual students and classrooms. The tool supports professional development, projects student growth, reveals trends for targeted interventions (for example, recommending grade-level departmentalization), and has helped the district make data-driven instructional improvements that support higher student achievement.
