A SAS Case Study
Stockholm County Council (SLL), one of Sweden’s largest public organizations responsible mainly for health care, faced fragmented analytics and reporting across departments—multiple separate SAS installations meant data and skills were siloed, duplication of effort was common, and cross-departmental planning and monitoring were inefficient. SLL therefore needed to consolidate projects and create a common analytics environment to improve care planning, quality measurement and cost control.
Working with SAS and partner BearingPoint, SLL implemented a consolidated SAS Business Analytics platform and a joint portal (GUPS) that provides a single interface, shared data and common skills across all units, governed by a cross-departmental administrative board. The project was delivered on time and on budget, streamlined support, improved data quality by eliminating manual processes, and generated savings of several million kronor while giving all stakeholders easier access to analytics for planning and monitoring.
