Case Study: Nestlé achieves more accurate demand planning and smarter promotions with SAS Forecast Server

A SAS Case Study

Preview of the Nestle Case Study

Improved insights give Nestlé the competitive edge

Nestlé Oceania, the regional arm of the global nutrition and wellness leader with 6,000+ employees, 12 factories and multiple distribution centres, faced inconsistent demand planning around promotions. Relying on past examples and intuition led to stock imbalances, production scheduling issues and the risk of late or stale products reaching customers, so the business needed a more holistic, accurate planning approach.

Nestlé implemented SAS Forecast Server to create a single, collaborative forecast and has since more than halved forecast bias, reduced working capital and improved promotion and pricing decisions. The solution lets teams quantify cross‑product promotion effects, align supply chain, sales and marketing inputs into one plan, and deploy forecasting tools to planners without statistical expertise, driving smarter, fact‑based decisions.
