Case Study: Fraport AG achieves lower operational costs and real-time decision-making with SAS High-Performance Analytics and SAS Visual Analytics

A SAS Case Study

Preview of the Fraport AG Case Study

Fraport uses SAS® Visual Analytics to make real-time operational decisions

Fraport AG, operator of Frankfurt Airport — which handles more than 57 million passengers and 2 million metric tons of freight to 113 countries each year — needed to reduce operating costs and make real-time operational decisions by analyzing massive quantities of data. The company sought faster, more intuitive analytics and visualization to support time-sensitive airport operations.

Fraport migrated from SAS Business Analytics to SAS High‑Performance Analytics and deployed SAS Visual Analytics on a Pivotal DCA (formerly EMC Greenplum DCA) optimized for big‑data workloads. The new platform sped up analysis, improved data exploration and visualization, strengthened decision‑support processes and helped the airport save time and lower operational costs.
