Enexis, a Dutch energy network operator serving 2.75 million customers, struggled with an IT-dependent, slow reporting process that left business users waiting for analyses and tied up IT resources across its 4,500-strong workforce. The company needed a way to make data accessible and actionable so staff could quickly understand grid status and support operational decisions.

Enexis implemented SAS Visual Analytics to give employees self-service access to standardized, visually driven reports. The in-memory platform cut report build times from days or months to about two hours, reduced reliance on IT, and empowered teams to spot issues (for example, a procurement discrepancy in smart-meter rollout) and respond faster; today 98% of reports from the reporting unit are produced with SAS, supporting more strategic, data-driven decision making.
