A SAS Case Study
Eandis, Belgium’s largest electricity and gas distribution operator serving 229 cities and municipalities, faced a changing energy landscape as rooftop solar, wind and electric vehicles introduced two-way, variable power flows that strain grid stability. The company needed to modernize its infrastructure, develop a smart grid, and give business users a self-service way to explore huge volumes of measurement data to forecast demand, plan investments and encourage consumer conservation.
By deploying SAS Visual Analytics, Eandis created a sandbox for fast, visual exploration and predictive modeling that lets analysts run “what-if” scenarios and move validated models into production. Routine analyses that once took three to six months now complete in minutes, enabling faster, better-informed investment decisions, improved grid management for renewable integration and more effective consumer engagement around energy use.
