A SAS Case Study
Dun & Bradstreet’s Prague office faced a growing challenge: keep near-real-time, high-quality ratings for nearly 3 million Czech and Slovak companies despite daily registration changes (up to 9,000 records) and a previously semi-manual, reactive scoring process. The company needed to reduce time spent reconciling external data, expand the number of firms with assigned D&B ratings, and enable retro analysis, behavioral scoring and regular performance measurement.
D&B implemented SAS Enterprise Miner and SAS Enterprise Guide—quickly integrated into existing workflows—to automate its patented DUNSRight™ process using some 1,200 variables (about 50 in the final scorecard). The result is daily automated failure scores and ratings across Czech and Slovak databases, the ability to run multiple scorecards and multivariate analyses, improved data quality and credibility, faster analysis, broader coverage and forecasting services, and a stronger, more unified competitive offering.
